Chick lit with bite:
He’s tall, dark and handsome and he might rip your throat out…
The line between magic and sanity is very thin. That’s part of why I, Garnet Lacey, quit cold turkey. Never touch the stuff. No Exceptions.’ Trouble is magic is so addictive, especially when you’ve got inner goddesses like Lilith to contend with. And it doesn’t stop there for Garnet; if you are going to run an occult bookstore then you’ve got to expect customers like Sebastian Von Traum, with his piercing brown eyes, sexy accent, killer body and total lack of an aura; which means he’s dead …
Trouble can be so hard to resist, and what with Vatican witch hunters, long lost vampire exes and a boyfriend with an ex-wife who is literally stirring in her grave, Garnet Lacey has trouble enough for anyone.

WHAT WE THOUGHT

There is nothing like a good chick lit to keep you entertained, and if you are looking for something unusual but still girly you will love Tall, Dark and Dead. This is Tate Hallaway’s first novel, she has loved the vampire genre since high school, and her passion shows in her writing. Somehow she manages to make blood sucking vampires sexy and she even adds some romance to the mix.
This is an alternative read and a lot of fun, in addition to a vampire with a “not quite dead wife” and a backstabbing son, there are witches, warlocks and ghosts, but there is no such thing as werewolves!
A book that involves a powerful yet quirky heroine, along with magic and passion, while still remaining a light read. This is appealing to younger women who want it all, with limited time to spare.
I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I hope there will be more like this to come!
